Take Me Home!

Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hidden; Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy name; through Christ our Lord. Amen

Living God, your Son made himself known in the breaking of bread: Open the eyes of our faith, that we may see him in all his redeeming work; who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Makes you think...

"Think of Christ as a very Gracious and Understanding person quite near to you. Talk to Him now in your mind. Is it a foolish thing to do? The best people of all ages have talked to God in their mind.

You can only know Him personally by personal fellowship and that means (as it would mean with any person) by conversation. Speak to him....

........and listen"

One Solitairy Life

He was born in a stable, in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman. He worked in a carpenters shop until he was thirty. From there he travelled less than 200 miles.

He never wrote a book. He never held office. He never had a family or owned a home. He did none of the things one associates with greatness.

He became a nomadic preacher. He was only thirty-three when the tide of popular opinion turned against him. He was betrayed by a close friend, and his other friends ran away. He was turned over to his enemies and went through the mockery of a trial. He was unjustly condemned to death, crucified on a cross between two thieves, on a hill overlooking the town dump. And when dead, was laid in a borrowed grave, through the pity of a friend.

Nineteen centuries have come and gone, all the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed, all the parliaments that ever sat , and all the kings that ever reigned have not effected the life of man on this earth as that One Solitary Life.

He is the central figure of the human race, He is the    Messiah, the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

Here's a Story.....

Russ Blowers is a minister who is active in his local Indianapolis Rotary
club. At club meetings each week a member gives a brief statement about his job.
When it was his turn, Russ said:

"I'm with a global enterprise. We have branches in every country in the world. We have our representatives in
nearly every parliament and board room on earth. We're into motivation and behavior alteration.
We run hospitals, feeding stations, crisis pregnancy centers, universities, publishing houses, and nursing homes.

We care for our clients from birth to death.
We are into life insurance and fire insurance. We perform spiritual heart
transplants. Our original Organiser owns all the real estate on earth plus an assortment of galaxies and constellations. He knows everything and lives everywhere. Our product is free for the asking. There's not enough money to buy it.
Our Managing Director  was born in a hick town, worked as a carpenter, didn't own a home, was misunderstood by his family, hated by enemies, walked on water, was  condemned to death without a trial, and arose from the dead.........

I talk with him everyday."

Ever thought about sharing your faith? And thought twice about it?! Why not have a look at this piece written by Bishop David Bena of our link diocese of Albany in New York state. It's entitled "How to share your faith without being obnoxious"
