Saint Gall's Walking Club
The Parish walking club is a relatively new church organisation. So far our wanderings have taken us from the heights of Slieve Donard in the Mourne Mountains to the lows of the North Down Coastal path!
The club attracts walkers of all ages and abilities. The programme is intended to be attractive to everyone. A quick look in the parish magazine will tell you whether the walk will be a tough "Five Booter" - like Slieve Donard - or a "One Booter" like the Coastal path- suitable for anyone from a child up.
The parish magazine will contain all details of our forthcoming wanderings. If you would like to join - just come along, enjoy a dander, and a bit of company!
The photo below shows some of the intrepid bunch that set out for a stroll around Tollymore Forest Park in the summer of 2001. Foot and Mouth restrictions had severly limited the range of walks we could do. But an excellent stroll under the trees was rounded off by a relaxed Barbeque lunch. A grand day out!
